Making Work Easier

Levers

Using a pencil, a ruler and a weight, the class did an experiment demonstrating how important the position of the fulcrum is when using a lever to do work. They discovered that the closer the fulcrum is to the load - the easier it is to do the work.  These labeled diagrams were made by the students to demonstrate their understanding of the parts of a lever and how they work.

Vocabulary:  lever - load - effort(force) - fulcrum
